Salvation 101- Sports Version

WRITES SEASON 2 EPISODE 1
SALVATION-
SPORTS VERSION
USAIN BOLT
VERSUS ASAFA POWELL ¿ THE LAW VERSUS JESUS
I am studying Romans and I want to juxtapose between religion and
sports. Have fun reading.
Ok so I see a track with two guys trying to win the gold medal in
a 100 meter race. Asafa Powell gets on the track and sets an unbelievable
record in 9.74 seconds to set the world record on the 9th of September, 2007 in Reiti, Italy.
That was so surreal to the world. Asafa Powell reigns for some time, but during
his reign, another unfathomable guy called Usain Bolt is busily training on the
beaches of Jamaica. He pops us in a world thriller race and sets a new and
staggering record of 9.58 seconds, shattering the Powell world record on the 16th of August, 2009 in Berlin Germany.
That was just hilarious and mind-blowing. I wish I could be as fast as them.
I’m quite fast myself though.
Here are my deductions:
Asafa Powell represents the LAW. The LAW brought liberation to the
people of Israel. The LAW was more or less the first criteria for obedience for
the people of Israel. So it was their salvation to heaven. There were over 600
LAWS and you'd better obey all of them otherwise it's a NO-ENTRY into heaven
for you. After a while God sees that the law is not helping them so he has to
send them another person (Usain Bolt), to run the old race and supersede every
aspect of the old person and old race's fact and figures. And guess what, Jesus
is that person. Jesus came to fulfil the law and set a new standard to get into
heaven. And that's FAITH IN HIS NAME. The LAW simply shows us how sinful we
are. Christ didn't come to abolish the law but rather fulfil it and show us the
new and only alternative way into heaven. Christ fulfilled the law (Bolt
surpassing Powell) and made grace available to all and sundry. So we are no
longer under the law but rather under grace. And under this grace, we obey the
LAW which Jesus summarized as the TWO MOST IMPORTANT COMMANDMENTS or LAWS.
1) The Love for God and
2) Love for your neighbour.
Give your life to Christ today. You're never too late. You're just
too early.
Repeat after me with a willing heart:
God I give my all to you. I believe you came die for me
I confess my sins and accept you as the Lord and King of my
life. OH Holy Spirit come and live within me and teach me in Jesus name
