Uncle Maslow vs Daddy Jesus🤔
Demand and Supply
Reading some books on the Kingdom by Myles Munroe. Chaale it's a deep thing kwraa. Anyway today's post is quite lengthy. But it wouldn't hurt to read and share. Enjoy the read💯
These two forces demand and supply tend to haunt us down everywhere in life. Be it in politics, economics, accounting, religion, and the list goes on and on and on.
So let's make a quick referral to our Social Studies Notes😏. If you vividly remember, we learn about THE SELF then after understanding ourselves we learnt some tactical principles from Uncle Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Please if you can't remember that pyramid, just Google it erhh.🤓
So Uncle Maslow taught us a few things that I will like to contend with today. He did a research which seems to be logically right, about the needs of every human. It's put in order of importance.
1. Physiological Needs (food, water, air, etc)- Things we need for survival
2. Safety and Security Needs
3. Social Needs (love, friendship, family etc)
4. Self Esteem Needs (achievements, status, responsibility, reputation etc)
5. Self actualization (creativity, spontaneity, problem solving, authenticity. .etc)
That's some recap for you
But let's compare this great Psychologist to Jesus' research from Matthew 6 which seems to totally defy Maslow's research findings.
Maslow said we need to get food, water, social acceptance, security, love, significance etc before we can enjoy life to the fullest. But let's see what Jesus is also saying.
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life,
-what you will eat or
-what you will drink;
-nor about your body,
-what you will put on.
- Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Matthew 6:25 NKJV
Eish. Jesus is not only defying Maslow but rather also, our typical way of living and thinking as humans. Let's go deeper🤔
Look at the birds of the air, for they
-neither sow nor reap
-nor gather into barns;
-yet your HEAVENLY FATHER FEEDS them.
ARE YOU NOT of MORE VALUE THAN THEY?
Matthew 6:26 NKJV
I think you should answer that question asked by Jesus. Quite explanatory right? Let's Box on👊🏿
Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?😮 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies🌷 of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon🙇🏾 in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

These verses are not "making me think far"
😁. The part that "bosts" my left brain is when he talks about the fact that Solomon's glory can't be compared to God's care for his lilies in gardens. Hmm, this Jesus guy sure did a course in poetry in Heaven.😇 It gets more interesting.👇🏿
Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Matthew 6:30 NKJV
God kwraa takes care of the grass, whose photosynthesis and other processes cannot even be compared to the multiple complex systems that each humans goes through. Grass can be green this morning and by evening, be as brown as the _milo_ you drank that morning.🤕
“Therefore do not WORRY saying,
-‘What shall we eat?’ or
-‘What shall we drink?’ or
-‘What shall we wear?’
For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
Matthew 6:31-32 NKJV
Don't let the pressures of life weigh you down. Don't let miseries, troubles, depressions, fear, oppression and their other cousins overtake your life. Let Jesus be Center of it all🎤🎼
AND FINALLY JESUS TEACHES US THE ULTIMATE WAY TO ENJOY LIFE, and restructuring what Maslow thought he had right by saying::::::
But seek FIRST the
-KINGDOM of GOD and
-His RIGHTEOUSNESS, and
-all these things shall be added to you. Therefore
-do not WORRY about tomorrow,
-for tomorrow will worry about its own things.
-Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:32-34 NKJV
🤗Quick ILLUSTRATION :
Have you been worried🙁😕😔😞😩😫😖 about anything before? I'm sure you have, but has that Worry solved any problem for you? Chaale stop worrying. It hurts your emotions and messes up your smile😆. Just seek the kingdom and His righteousness.
And please the Kingdom of God is not HEAVEN, but it's the intimate relationship that God wants to have within the hearts of His people whilst they live on earth before they die. It's a Personal and gross intimacy with the Father and His works He did whilst on earth. Or should I say, a sacred obsession of who He is, what he did and what He said we should do before He died on the cross.
Some of us think the Kingdom of Heaven is as ESCAPIST PLAN to heaven after we get saved, but, it's bigger than you think.🤔
We'll go deeper next week about the Kingdom of God. But for now. Just desire for an intense personal intimacy with the Father. It starts with Salvation. And the opportunity is ripe for you.
🙏🏿Repeat after me : God I humbly ask you to come and live in my life and make new and fresh and free from my sins. I accept you as Lord and Personal Savior. Holy Spirit live in me and teach me. In JESUS NAME 🙏 👊.
